Dogs

  • Fill waterer as needed (on floor between stove and island in the kitchen).
  • Pepper (white & blue bowl) - 3 scoops AM, 3 scoops + 1 Deramaxx pill PM
  • Molly (blue bowl) - 2 scoops AM, 3 scoops PM
  • Nasdaq (small white bowl) - 1 scoop AM, 1.5 scoops PM

1 scoop = 1/4 cup of Nutros Lamb and Rice Small Bites

Remember that Pepper can be snappish about his arthritis, and that Molly is going senile. We don't force her to go outside except first thing in the morning and last thing before bed. Also remember that they're all thieves who will steal any food they can reach, and they can reach both the dining room table and the kitchen counters.

Horses

AM

  1. Feed grain
    • Merlin gets 5 qts. Senior plus 2 scoops of Cosequin (we usually use the white bucket)
    • Leaps gets a blue scoop of Trotter, 1 scoop of B1 Crumbles, and 1 scoop of Grand Vite (yellow bucket)
    • This is also on the board in the barn
  2. OPTIONAL - let them finish their grain and turn them out
  3. fill water buckets in their stalls/paddocks
  4. Give them each 1/4 bale of hay
  5. Clean stalls (or do it in the PM)

PM

  1. Bring them in from the field if they're out
  2. Feed grain
    • Merlin gets 5 qts. Senior (blue bucket)
    • Leaps gets a blue scoop of Trotter (red bucket)
  3. 1/4 bale of hay each
  4. Fill water buckets (use heated buckets if it's supposed to get below freezing)

They only need blankets if it's going to be below 25 or really windy and rainy.

Cats

Morris (barn cat)

AM and PM:

  1. Refill heated water bowl if it's below freezing (otherwise he'll find water himself).
  2. 1/4 to 1/3 cup of food in his bowl (food is in the container near the hydrant in the barn).

Jasper (indoor cat)

AM and PM:

  1. Check and refill water as necessary (water fountain on cabinet next to fridge).
  2. 2 scoops (1/2 cup) of food in his bowl

Notes

  1. the barn hydrant has been having issues. We think we have it fixed, but if it freezes up again the only option is to get water from the house spigot. That spigot is located on the corner of the house closest to the barn, directly under the spotlight.
